Coloplast Genesis Malleable Penile Prosthesis
The
Coloplast Genesis is a malleable, semi-rigid, non-inflatable
penile implant. The Genesis was designed for straightforward
implantation and ease of use for patients with finger or hand
dexterity issues, hand muscle fatigue, or limited reach and range
of mobility.
The Genesis includes a pair of cylinders with a 99.97% pure silver coil core, a polypropylene connector and an outer layer of silicone.
Benefits of the Genesis include:
- Hydrophilic coating that enables a surgeon to select and
customize the choice of antibiotic preparation.
- No springs, cables, or moving internal parts to compromise
reliability.
- Distal shaft column strength helps prevent buckling.
- Positionability virtually eliminates springback.
- Three diameters: 9.5, 11 and 13 mm.
- Lengths: 14–23 cm, 16–25 cm and 18–27 cm.
- Trimmable for a custom fit.
The only other malleable penile implants available in the Unites States are the Boston Scientific's Tactra and Rigicon's Rigi10.
